2026!! What a year it has been so far and it is looking to be just the start to an even better 2027.
Yes, it's taken some patience and work (and tears) but everything is coming together. I am so happy to have begun moving into my own workshop this past month! It happened quickly and with precision! To say I've been waiting for years for something to come along that would suit my purposes is a mild understatement. It is next to impossible to find places to rent here on Salt Spring Island and this is the first one that has been reasonable rent, easy access and have almost everything I am looking for in a workshop. I was so excited to find hook ups for my kiln and possible future kilns that I didn't bat an eye and said yes. The big glitch was that there was no selling from the space. I said yes knowing this and knowing how rare it was to find something so good. (seriously, I've been looking since we arrived on Salt Spring almost 4 years ago)
Then as if I had made the absolute correct choice, within a week, the perfect house showed up on the market and a purchase was made!! l now have some home security here on Salt Spring and again, that is next to impossible to find as well. This one has ocean views, a nearby beach for walking the dogs (and me) and the possibility of an Air BNB if desired. It does not have a workshop that I can sell out of (yet) but has the room for one to be added at some point in the next few years. This is all very exciting!! I love seeing the plan all come together in it's own perfect way!
What I am now working on is figuring out how to sell in 2027 beyond my current online reach. I am exploring options so that when you come over to Salt Spring Island you have access to go shopping for some of my products in person. I am also looking at wholesaling to galleries/shops in Vancouver and Vancouver Island that don't entail large shipping/delivery costs and won't require you hopping on a ferry to pick up some of my items. 2027 certainly looks like my settling in and getting back to rebuilding the business. (that is if you can keep me off of the beach long enough to do so ~ just kidding) I look forward to announcing these new ventures in 2027!
I will be doing a small intro of Winter/Christmas soaps in early November this year but I have definitely scaled down my ambitions for the next few months due to all the moves and getting organized. I am still very keen on starting a Patreon page but it has been sidelined until 2027 with all of the hoopla going on right now. I so want to share all of my journey on that channel. My plan is to make it a great resource for how to make, bake and grow your own independence.
But as all of this is going on, I diligently have been filling orders and focusing on getting the workshop working so that I am making the best candles, soaps and glass of my lifetime. Thank you so much for your continued support that tells me that I'm on the right path! Your input and support means the world to me!!
Until next time! Sending all of my love!
Lana
