Show travels are done for 2024!

Lana McCullough

Hello friends!

Thank you to all who came out to support me at markets and shows this past year!  Despite injuries, heavy boxes of stock were moved around to shows/markets that commitments were made to.  Well, most of them anyways.  Mother Nature didn't always agree with going outdoors to sell on a Saturday so some days were missed at the local Salt Spring Farmer's Market but I feel like I attended a good many of them to make sure that my peeps could sniff and sample to their delight.

For the balance of 2024, I will be selling online only as I will not be attending any more indoor markets this year.  There's just too much illness going around and I honestly don't want to be sick for Christmas.  So I am taking this time to focus on organizing my supplies and stock that I have left over from the year.  I am fulfilling online orders at a steady pace.  Of course, part of my move to Salt Spring Island thoughtfully included the access to being able to ship via courier more easily.  It turns out that will be very important this year.  So fear not, 99% of my orders are shipped via UPS and if you fall into the small portion of "remote" locations, I will contact you to figure out how to resolve the issue.  I am slightly annoyed by the Canada Post strike but moreso at the government for not resolving this issue long ago (thus preventing a strike).  I'm not pro-union but I am pro-be a human being....so forcing this issue at Christmas time not only effects small towns where possibly Canada Post is their only source of delivery but also effects the thousands of employees during a hard year economically to be forced to suffer pay strike just before Christmas.  It was not long ago when I did not have close access to courier services and so I can see how this could impact small businesses as well.  Boo to anyone who let this happen and impact so many people at Christmas time.  I feel like Scrooge is involved in this somehow. (insert very large cranky face here)

Alas, I have no control over the situation but I do have control over how I react to it.  So, today I am putting up my Christmas tree at a very leisurely pace in between filling orders.  I'm taking my time and not just hurriedly getting the tree up to get it over with.  I'm enjoying the process in decorating as well as putting love and care into each product I package and make.  It is such a joy to be part of others Christmas, even if it is in a small way!

I am always so grateful for every order and purchase made with me whether online or at events.  This has been a tough year economically for all of us and I appreciate so many of your kind words, your purchases and overall support.  As always, it does make a very large difference to a small business and I always try to convey my gratitude to you with each interaction.  Thank you so very, very much!!

I am also looking forward to updating you with more news in the weeks ahead for 2025!  Can you believe it's almost 2025?!?  I am looking forward to this holiday season and all that 2025 will bring.  May your season be filled with sweet scents, glowing light and crackling fires!

Sending all of my love!

Lana
