It's amazing how heavy the last couple of months have felt for me. Just off is the best way to describe it. The world seems to be on fire and what can one little person do about it except feel drained and unmotivated? And then mid February, the haze lifted and the sun is shining again! All of the sudden, my creativity was back and I was making new things again and actually enjoying it. Oh trust me, there were alot of tears and angst before and during the break but I am so happy that the break eventually happened. So without further ado...
New soaps have been made and it's been really difficult to not be sharing pics of those items until it gets closer to the online limited edition launch (March 14th) of these soaps and bath bombs. I have been curating and tweaking my soaping recipes to get the batter that I need to make the pretty designs and new soaps along with making a soap that feels great on your skin. All of this creation is based off of my Award Winning soaps that won FIRST PLACE at the Salt Spring Island Fall Fair 2025. I have taken what is prized/confidential recipes and made those basic recipes into something even better. I will be featuring my All Natural line (which I have always had and is one of my best sellers) of soaps and then I will be adding my Vegan line (which has all the fancy colors and designs).
My Goatsmilk Soap won First Prize for it's wonderful feel on the skin and gorgeous lather. Building upon that I have added to my All Natural Soaps my Turmeric Oatmeal Soap that takes my exfoliating scrub to a new level. My Honey Oatmeal Soap has a light scrub and now, if you want a little more scrub, then give the Turmeric Oatmeal Soap a try. I LOVE all three of my All Natural Soaps as they all have Shea Butter in them that is so soothing and moisturizing on the skin. Which one has the most Shea Butter? That would be the Honey Oatmeal as it is 1/4 of the recipe being Shea Butter. But the combination of Shea Butter and Goatmilk is decadent in the All Natural Goatmilk Soap. So you see, all 3 are absolutely wonderful in their own way. I would suggest getting one of each and deciding for yourself, which one is your favourite.
My NEW Vegan Soap line (with all the fauncy colours and designs & another First Prize winner) is always a limited edition group. That means, I make only so much of one design (usually one loaf) and that is all that is available for the time being. It doesn't mean that I won't do a similar design in the future but for now, that's all that I have. The fun part about this is that you wait for the online drop of the NEW Vegan designs and shop before I'm sold out. It definitely gives me something to work towards and something fun for you to look forward to, even if you are just browsing. That's fine too. Sometimes it is just about creating eye candy! I have pics locked and loaded of these new designs and will drop more as it gets closer to my launch of these fun soaps (March 14th).
The great bonus to creating new soaps is that I'm developing NEW scents that work with soap and with candles. My newest favourite scent is Pink Dragonfruit with Avocado Pomegranate coming up a close second. Avocado Pomegranate is my replacement scent (though not exactly the same) for my Pomegranate Zen. Other new scents for Summer & Fall are in the works right now too so as you can see, I'm BUSY! Did I not say that the creativity just kicked in?!? I've got some molds for Summer and Fall that I am just dying to try out so be sure to watch for those in my Summer launch (mid June) and Fall/Christmas (mid Sept) launch of NEW products this year. There will be new designs in both soaps and bath bombs coming!
And yes, as I continue to develop my glass making avenue of my business, I remain vigilant that I will make some designs that work with tealights and spa light candles. I am confident that they will be ready for my Fall/Christmas launch 2026. I'm very excited to share these designs with you as well!
You may also be wondering if I will be travelling to gift shows this year. Fortunately, my healing of my knees is continuing but it is a slow process. I will not be taking on any travelling or hauling of heavy boxes to gift shows this year. I will though be puttering at home on Salt Spring Island which means that I will be doing a soaping demonstration at Ruckle Park Farm Days on May 3rd (which I have done for the past 2 years). I am looking forward to expanding my sales through selling at local art galleries once my glass designs become easier for me to make (hopefully 2027) which may bring my candles to Vancouver Island and mainland BC again next year. In the meantime, you can find me online and at Ruckle Park Farm Days.
And I must always mention how grateful I am for your continued online support! Each sale online makes me do a small happy dance and grin from ear to ear. It is so fantastic beyond words to know that you chose me and my little handcrafted company for your treat to yourself or your loved ones. THANK YOU! I am now reaching through the screen and giving you a BIG hug!
Please know that I am keeping my eyes peeled for that perfect home/studio opportunity here on Salt Spring Island. A couple have come up (and it's still early in the year) so I may be spending my Summer moving to another location on the island? I am a strong believer in if it is meant to happen, it will. We are ready WHEN it does happen. I'm just not sure exactly when WHEN is. But until then, I am busily creating and making with JOY in my heart. I hope that you can feel that love in each candle or soap or bath bomb that you purchase from me.
Sending all of my love,
Lana
