March News 2025
Happy March to all! And just like that we are coming up to the end of the first quarter of the year. Before we know it, Easter will be here! It's so much fun making for the holidays and Easter is no exception. This year, I'm challenging myself by taking on chocolate making. At Christmas time I made Peppermint Patties that were wonderful. I make homemade marshmallows on the regular so I'm thinking this year I'll be putting together some chocolate covered marshmallow bunnies (or hearts at the very least) for Easter fun. But I understand, you don't get...
Time to make some changes (in a really good way!)
Happy February to all! It was about two years ago at about this time that I started to think about moving to Salt Spring Island. Everything happened really quickly and I took the leap of faith. It has mostly worked out really well but the downturn in the economy really curbed my ability to find my own permanent place here on the island within a couple of years. I'm going to be brutally honest but the place I was originally in was not great. I made it work which was the criteria for the first place here. I was...
I'm coming to see you Vancouver!
It's mid September already and I'm busy with the Salt Spring Farmers Market and getting ready for an Oktoberfest Market the last weekend of September in downtown Vancouver! Yes, Vancouver, I'll be there Sept 28th and 29th at the Junction Public Market from 11 am - 9 pm Saturday and 11 am to 7 pm on Sunday. The market is at 200 Granville Street at the outdoor plaza between Waterfront Station and Canada Place. Just down the street from where the Vancouver Christmas Market is held. Except, this year, instead of being at the VCM, I'll be at this...
A new Hartmont scent has finally arrived!
NEW SCENT ANNOUNCEMENT! Happy August to you! I am so excited to announce my newest Summer scent that I'm sneaking into the line, with still a few weeks left of sunny weather. My new scent is called Salty Mermaid. It is an intoxicating blend of salt water and ocean breeze with agave, seaweed and coconut. Think a mermaid sipping out of a coconut while perched on a harbour rock with a little bit of seaweed caught on her tail while the ocean waves crash around her. If you like my Beach Bum scent, you might like this new scent. ...
More twists and turns than Salt Spring Island roads!
Happy Spring Break to everyone! Don't you just love when you plan for one thing and then something else comes to the forefront and changes need to be made? I feel like that may just be my theme of 2024. The roads on Salt Spring Island are winding and hilly like the pic above. To give you some idea, the speed limit on most of the island is 50 km per hour, there are no stop lights (there are stop signs) and most roads have a do not pass, solid line down the middle. If you get stuck behind someone...
